Winter Weather Woes
Let me say I was encouraged to see so many people show up for services this morning! Oh me of little faith! Sure, attendance was understandably down, but so many of you braved the elements that you make me very pleased indeed. You are wonderful people!
Now, I am supposed to leave for Cordova, Argentina this afternoon to speak to a convocation of over 2,000 students from various countries of southern South America. I am to speak to them about making disciples and being part of God’s global revolution. You KNOW how excited I am about that. But, it is almost 6:00 and I am still sitting at the airport. My original flight was cancelled this morning, but they signed me over to another carrier. We will be the last flight out of the airport of any carrier IF we get off. There is still doubt. If I can just get to Atlanta I can catch the flight tomorrow to Buenos Aires. I have already missed today’s flight, and that means I will not be able to speak the first day, Tuesday. If I can get on the flight tomorrow, I’ll get in a day late — not ideal, but better than nothing.
Here’s what this means: I have to practice patience and faith in God, too. There is nothing any of us can do to control the weather, and as much I am am dying to be with those kids in Argentina, God is still in control. It does no good to be upset or anxious. So, here I sit. I’ll keep you posted on my blog. If I do make it to Argentina I may not have Internet access the first couple of days. So if you don’t see a new post for a while you’ll know why.
