Quito Update
What a busy but fabulous time! Fourteen of us representing 10 missionary agencies meet in a conference room on the campus of the famous radio station HCJB, the Voice of the Andes. Our job was to explore ways to work together to facilitate sending Latin American missionaries to other people groups. This was a great group of people to work with. No one came with a personal agenda or ego. We all shared a common goal of advancing God’s kingdom. What a blessing!
We got an amazing amount of work done in two short days and laid the foundation for other like-minded missionary agencies to work with us in the future. We are certainly not the only ones engaged in working with Latin American Churches and missionaries, but we wanted to begin with a small, committed group to talk through some of the difficult issues. I was honored to be a part of what we believe was a strategic and important meeting.
Can you remember how it was at a retreat or camp when you would get together with your friends around the fireplace and just talk and enjoy being around each other? That’s how I felt with this group of people, even though I had only personally met three of them before this meeting.
It’s late people and I have to get up shortly at 3:30am to head to the airport and back to Kansas City. (I tried to post this last night and lost my already very weak connection. So, this is being sent to you from the Houston airport.)
