I was reading "Write it down" and it really does help. I wanted to increase my typing speed, so I started typing bible verses from memory. then I would type them in different ways for example. Jn 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son That whosoever believeth on him etc.
or For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth

or For God so Loved the world that he gave his so on
  anyway thanks good challenge Ronny

Writing a passage down is pretty straightforward -- it's just that simple. Diagramming, though, is something else and far beyond the scope of a blog I'm afraid, Aaron. I do this on a whiteboard to illustrate when I am teaching expository preaching in a seminary or institute, for example. But, check out this link for a reminder of what many of us did in school for outlining sentences -- http://www.smls.org/downloads/#sd. There is no one way to do it, and I don't do it the way you will see in this link. Basically, it is arranging in some sort of consistent order the various phrases and parts of speech in a sentence or passage, so that we see clearly what the text says. We often miss the intent because we read quickly or carelessly and assume is says one thing when it actually says another. Don't be afraid to experiment with some forms of diagramming. I think you should be able to find some other examples on the Internet. Just writing out a passage by hand is good enough for most purposes!

Jeff, can you give us an example of what you do when you write a passage out and diagram it? I am trying this and I am not exactly sure how to break down the passage (diagram) it. What exactly do you do? Thanks for the help!

Hola!

Bendiciones!

"Handwriting encourages a synchronization of the above elements resulting an increased sensitivity to the message of the words. "

In addition to that, it helps in memorization for me. And sometimes writing out the Scripture transforms into prayer.
