I am tired of writing about the Olympics, and I am too tired to preach you a sermon or expound brilliantly about some weighty life issue. Aren’t you glad?

So, I decided to pass on some fun. My friend Tina in Denver recently posted a picture on her web site that I found mesmerizing. She was visiting the San Diego Wild Animal Park some years ago when the guide said that they were passing the mountain goat habitat, but warned they were hard to see. She saw just a few, but others couldn’t see any. She snapped a picture just for the fun of it. Only later did she begin to examine the picture and was astounded to see how many goats were really there.

When I first looked at it I was reminded why I would starve to death if I had to depend on hunting in order to eat. I couldn’t see a single goat! Then, on her suggestion, I copied the picture and blew it up in a picture viewer. I saw my first half dozen or so goats. A couple of nights ago I got Cheryl hooked on it and she did the same thing. Tina just emailed me her list of 34 goats and then I pointed out at least one more she had not seen. I have no idea how many stinking goats are in this picture, but I challenge you to see how many you can find. She just wrote back and is up to around 40.

If you’d like to see the original with her comments, check it out here. You might even want to spend some time looking around her site. As a trainer, presenter and consultant she has some wonderful resources, thoughts and instruction that is yours just for the looking. She’s much smarter than I am and you mght find that you like what she has to say! If you are nice, she just might put up her list soon and you can check your eyes against hers.

  1. Hi,This is wonderful picture i found that there are around 34 goats You might also want to try the free inzomia image viewer,www.izview.com. It does what you expect from a picture viewers do but it has a really outstanding zoom feature and it is very fast.

  2. Thanks for the suggestion of the inzomia image viewer. As a policy I don´t usually allow adverts on the blog, but I tried out this viewer and it is very easy and convenient to pan and zoom. I got a bit frustrated with the viewers I had and found it much harder to keep track of where I was in the photo.

  3. Speaking of how many mountain goats there are, not one of my readers has yet dared to guess, but I can tell you that over 40 of you goats have climbed your way over to Tina´s site to check out the original. Way to go! Keep your eyes open for an update. She just sent me the photo with numbers on it of the goats that she and others have spotted. She probably post it on her site soon and I’ll let you know.

What is truly remarkable to me is that she took this picture with no idea that she was capturing so many goats. She could see just a handful with the naked eye and just very casually snapped the photo on a common little camera. Had she know what she was doing, aimed properly and had higher resolution, who knows what we might be able to see!!!

Hola Jeff! How funny this has been! Yes, at least fifty people from your site have visited my site, which I’ve really gotten a kick out of. I hope they looked around a bit, or will do so in the future. I add things every few days and keep a mix of supervisory and managerial issues, career development, personal development, and a bit of philosophy.

The only thing that really gives it class though, is that I have a link to your website on mine! :-)

Thanks for mentioning me in the middle of your wonderful writing. I knew, in 1964, that you were destined for great things! Tina
