Thank You!

October 17, 2009

We have been inundated with expressions of love from so many people. Thank you so very much. By email, Face Book and blog comments you have expressed your loving support. Several of you have shared anecdotes about my dad that are greatly appreciated.

Cheryl lost her father almost twenty years ago, but this is the first parent I have lost. It certainly gives a different perspective and helps my empathize with what some family in our church is going through almost every week if not more frequently.

Some have asked and I am happy to share the funeral details with those who want to know. A viewing will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the church auditorium with the service to follow at 11:00. Park Lawn Funeral Home is in charge, and though the obituary in The Star tomorrow will say the service in the Park Lawn Chapel, it will be at the church. Mom and Dad attended the Hispanic Ministry for years. They always wanted to learn Spanish but never had to since there were always those ready to translate for them. They loved Marco like a son and I have asked him to officiate. In lieu of flowers we would ask instead for contributions in his name to be made to KCBT.

Again, thanks so very much to you all.

Jeff, I have truly grown to love your father. As a customer he and Helen have shared so much of their lives with me. They have been a Godsend. I have really missed them so much since their move. Now for Bob he is where he has really treasured to be some day. It is now. I know that Helen will really miss him after 62 years of marriage and fellowship of each day. Wow! I have not had the loss of any parent, nor spouse. I have had the loss of my grandparents. I will be praying for YOU, Helen, your brother David, Cheryl, the grandchildren, and all of the rest of the family. I know that you were close and many, many memories will continue on for eternity.
I love his book and will continue to share it with my customers in the shop. He will be missed, but remembered even more.
Please let me know if I can be of help in any way. I miss doing his and Helen’s hair. They definately had become a part of my life this way. As a hairdresser some of the things I struggled with, his cowlick, bent neck, oxygen concerns are NO More!
They are perfect now. And so is Everything about Bob Adams. Praise our Lord!
Fred sends his love and prayers for your family, as well. We speak all of this from our hearts, Carolyn

Querido Hno.

Jeff, I’d like to let your readers know that I will send FREE PDF files of your Dad’s book, “Off My Chest–From My Heart” to everyone who requests it at pastorbulldog@gmail.com. That mailbox will only be open for a few more weeks, so they should act quickly to get a copy.

It is a great book, with short devotions containing humor, inspiration and messages of faith and hope. I gave it as a gift to many people and they all have thanked me for it repeatedly. I read most of it again yesterday, as I was thinking of Bob and missing him already.

Remember the magic words: FREE, PDF, PASTOR BULLDOG! Send an email message to pastorbulldog@gmail.com and I will send the PDF file that can be read on a computer, with Adobe, or printed for a paper copy. Thanks!

In May of 1994, your dad and mom graciously allowed me to take my 3 month old daughter with us on a discpleship trip to Houlton, Maine. The whole group acted as surrogate grandparents and welcomed us to every meeting and helped out on the trip. I got to know them through that trip and have always thought a lot of your parents. Several years later, after we’d moved from the KC area, I brought my sister with me for a visit, especially to meet your dad. My sister had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and he corresponded with her as she dealt with the progression of the illness. I’m so thankful God set us up 15 years ago so that he could be used in the life of my sister. I know they both are rejoicing to be at home with the Lord!

i am so sorry for your huge loss, adam’s family. God has his way of taking us through motions when he decided to allow things like this to happen. Like he is carrying us on cotton ball’s until we can grasp the reality.
may i share? my dad passed 10 years ago. being a single mom with two children, he came to my rescue more than once or twice. he was very proud that his daughter had bought a house and had a decent job. of course he had a key to my home and it was his “project” to mow, paint, fix, rake the leaves(there were lots!!!) i remember looking out my picture window a few weeks after he was gone and talking with my LORD, and i asked HIM aloud.. LORD, who will rake my leaves? (My dad was my best friend and I needed his fellowship.)My yard was FULL of yellow and orange leaves.
The next morning when I woke up and got ready for work, i went out to my car and i noticed: ALL OF THE LEAVES WERE GONE! The wind had really kicked up and blew them all away. I was so blown away, just like the leaves, that I cried all day thinking about my LORD and how he cares for me. for me. it eased my pain immensely. God is sweet.
I guarantee my LORD will show HIMSELF faithful and loving during this very rough time. i will join in the orchestra of prayer for all of you. Blessings to the entire ADAM’S family. God is near.
