Jeff Adams became a follower of Jesus Christ while reading Billy Graham’s book Peace With God in his college dorm room in 1967; shortly thereafter he entered the ministry in Wichita, Kansas. Jeff married Cheryl in 1970 and they moved to Kansas City in early 1971. In 1974, he and his family moved to Central America where he served in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Two years later they moved to the Miramonte Baptist Church in San Salvador, El Salvador. During that nation’s civil war, the church experienced remarkable growth under Jeff’s leadership as senior pastor. Jeff returned to his home church as senior pastor in 1984. Under his direction Graceway has become a multi-cultural, mission-minded base for a worldwide network of like-minded churches including several churches planted in the Kansas City metro area. Through Graceway’s Shepherd School of Ministry, over 75 missionary families have been trained, commissioned, and sent out. Commitments to world missions, leadership training, biblical discipleship, and the exposition of God’s Word have become hallmarks of Graceway ministry.
Jeff holds a B.Min. from Luther Rice Seminary, a Master of Sacred Literature and a Ph.D. in Expository Preaching from Trinity Theological Seminary. Outside of “church world,” his interests include a love of snow skiing and he has been a practitioner of Shotokan karate for many years. He and Cheryl have two married daughters and four grandchildren.
